Victoria Lavington is a Speech-Language Pathologist who lives in Staten Island and works at a public elementary school in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn. Prior to becoming an SLP, she earned a B.A. in Theater from Connecticut College and then attended a 2-year graduate program in Classical theater at The Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England. During her time in England and while she was earning her Master’s degree in Speech from Lehman College (CUNY), Victoria worked as an English as a Second Language teacher to adults. She currently works for the New York City Department of Education, providing speech and language therapy for elementary school aged children. She is trained (though not certified) in the Orton Gillingham and Wilson reading programs and has been providing therapy using these programs for 11 years. Through her acting training and her time spent teaching English as a second language, she developed an interest in accent modification and has worked for 17 years with private clients in this field. In addition to accent modification, Victoria specializes in voice disorders (she worked for 3 years at a private practice specializing in this field) and stuttering therapy (she completed her clinical internship at the American Institute of Stuttering.) She sees private clients in Brooklyn or from her home in Staten Island in the afternoon/early evening and provides video therapy sessions via zoom.
